The Okmulgee Fire Department responded to a structure fire Tuesday morning in the 600 block of North Taft. The home, which was unoccupied and partially caught fire around 10:30 a.m. and the OFD responded. Okmulgee Police Chief Joe Prentice stated that a man was seen running away from the home shortly after the fire was reported. A neighbor stated the home was not being lived in, with the owner boarding up the property to keep out squatters. No further information was available at press time.
