Okmulgee Primary School teacher Shirlana Harbin and her class are all smiles after she was awarded a grant from the Okmulgee Education Foundation ‘Prize Patrol’ as they visited Okmulgee school sites Tuesday morning. Harbin applied for an OEF grant, and her project “100% is Our Goal” was to create a fun and engaging classroom environment that helps 100% of students to accomplish their goal of mastering reading by May 2023. The items to be purchased allow students to have hands-on learning and active engagement. Purchasing an anchor chart, hand held mirror, dice set, magnetic ten-frame set, dry erase boards, and other items will increase student engagement. See Friday’s edition of the Times for more award winners and their projects. Okmulgee Education Foundation members making the presentations were Margaret Hess, John Neal Jr., Wade Lackey and Laci Azbell.
