Okmulgee County District #2 has completed their project on the one-lane bridge on the curve just south of Preston on Old Highway 75. With the upcoming Preston overpass work on Hwy. 75, increased traffic on the Old Highway is expected. “Safety was our big concern, so we spent the time to paint the bridge and guard rails yellow along with more reflective signs and markers,” Commissioner David Walker stated. “DOT currently shows traffic count at 1,100 vehicles per day on this section of road. As you can see, it made a big difference.” The speed limit approaching the bridge is 30 mph and drivers are urged to use caution.
