100 years ago: The 112 Okmulgee and Henryetta Boy Scouts left for the first day of their annual two-week excursion at the Boy Scout camp seven miles west of Sapulpa. One hundred motorists were told to observe traffic laws, with 30 arrests made, as the Okmulgee police inaugurated a drive to compel motorists to obey the new law requiring automobiles to carry two sidelights and a tail light.
