A noticeable change can be seen when traveling down Main Street at night thanks to Okmulgee Main Street and donations from those in the community. The “Let There Be Light” fundraiser was a huge success and, according to Okmulgee Main Street Director Heather Sumner, allowed those in the community take pride in having a part in continuing to beautify Historic Downtown Okmulgee. City crews began stringing up more of the new lights this week. Plans call for the lights to span from Muskogee Avenue to Alabama Avenue along 6th Street.
