Okmulgee Fire Fighters Association IAFF Local #2839 recently donated a coffee mug hanger to Station 1 and a call went out to local businesses to share a mug with them. The rack is filling up quite nicely with several businesses donating this week, including the YMCA, Mabrey Bank, Funky Blessings, Harlan Ford and others. Battalion Chief Paul Fowler is pictured with a cup from the Okmulgee Times. The mug, about 41 years old, shows the fire that destroyed the Okmulgee Daily Times Building on Feb. 20, 1978. Pictured on the mug is the snorkel truck of the Okmulgee Fire Department used to battle the blaze. There is currently one member of the OFD that worked that fire, which was the result of arson.
