OYP Serves Christmas Dinner
By News Staff

Okmulgee Young Professionals hosted a Christmas dinner Wednesday evening for those in need of a warm meal. According to OYP President Lane Pilkington, member Seth Walker came up with the idea to serve the community. Okmulgee’s First Baptist Church, under Pastor Dennis Taylor and his wife Janet, partnered with the group on this event. The church donated the space at the FBC gym and members donated all the desserts. About 100 people were able to be served from around the community and enjoyed a meal of ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, rolls (fresh out of the oven by OYP member Tim Taylor, above) and desserts. A coffee bar sponsored by RLNTLSS (Okmulgee First Assembly Youth) was also available for those in attendance. Below, Seth Walker, and his wife Vanessa, check on the meal in preparation for those in attendance. See additional photos on page A3. PATRICK FORD
